How it all began
1996 I was driving truck for Arla. Arla put all their drivers in an eco-driving course and in the middle of a talk the lecturer said: “In fifteen years you will be driving on hydrogen, and your only issue will be water”. This caught my interest, and I started to look fore more information about hydrogen. Parallel with these new thoughts, I continued with my great interest, motorsport. 1991 I had taken my racing-licens. 1995 I made my debut in endurance racing, and thereafter I was racing in JTCC, followed by a full-time job for one year as one of two head mechanics at West-coast racing. 2000-2007 I drove superkart with a third place in the Nordic championship as best result. My racing career also contains a number of wins and podiums in different classes.
In spring 2008 I did as many times before, checked the internet for news concerning hydrogen. This time Hydrogen Sweden came up on the screen a partnership with members from trade and industry, institute, rural districts, regions, national authorities and associations. I made contact, it showed we had mutual interests and we started a collaboration.
The next important step
In 2009 Fladjemark Sports has together with Johan Ahlberg and Roland Lindblom carried out a degree project at Halmstad university. The heart of the project was to convert an ordinary combustion engine in a Radical sportscar to hydrogen drive. Supported by a number of organizations and companys who share our vision. The car started and runs since the 25th of May 2009. Thanks Johan and Roland! The conversion is made as simple as possible, to show that there is no big secret behind converting and running a combustion engine on hydrogen. With small means, great enthusiasm and idealistic contributions the process has been brought forward. Our contacts multiply all the time throught our participation at different exhibitions and competitions, and we are happy to have so much ability and competens at our diposal.
2010-
From autumn 2010 I am competing in superkart again, for three good reasons.
1. Superkart is without a doubt the coolest thing to drive. F1 and sports car prototypes excluded.
2. I want to stay fit till the day we have our hydrogen race-car on track.
3. Since I have always thought the best way to promote a new product is to do it through motorsport, I am doing that with my own innovation Erasure.
The work as driver instructor
2003 Gino Donatella at Ross AB called me up, Gino sells cars like Lamborghini, Pagani, Ferrari, and he wanted me to instruct his customers in their own cars on a race-track. It is a favour to be entrusted with the task to teach racelines and driving skill year after year in these rare and exclusive creations.
